Christy Bradshaw Schmidt, MA, LPC, has been a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas since 1997 and is the current President of the Texas Chapter of AFCC. After serving for six years as a Family Court Counselor with Dallas County Family Court Services, she transitioned to full-time private practice in 2006. Ms. Bradshaw Schmidt now specializes in contested child custody evaluations and provides expert consultation on complex family law matters across the state of Texas.
Christy is widely recognized for her rigorous and comprehensive evaluations of families involved in high-conflict custody disputes. With nearly 600 evaluations completed to date, she delivers detailed, evidence-based recommendations to help families resolve entrenched conflicts and restructure their home environments following divorce.
In addition to her evaluative work, Ms. Bradshaw Schmidt serves as an expert consultant to attorneys across multiple capacities. She provides expert testimony on a range of complex family law issues—including relocation, developmentally informed planning for children under three, parent child contact problems, reunification, and other specialized topics.
Through her consulting role, Ms. Bradshaw Schmidt assists attorneys and their clients in crafting child-centered parenting plans and provides strategic litigation support. She also helps clients prepare not just for the courtroom, but for life beyond litigation—fostering durable, family-focused solutions that support clients in establishing two healthy home environments for their children.
